1. What is a Trezor Hardware Wallet?

Trezor is a physical device designed to store your cryptocurrency private keys offline, keeping them safe from online threats like hackers and malware. Unlike software wallets, Trezor ensures your keys never leave the device.

2. Inside the Box

Before you begin, check that your Trezor box contains the following items:

Important: If your Trezor came with a pre-filled recovery seed or appears tampered, do not use it. Only set up your wallet using https://trezor.io/start.

3. Connect and Set Up Your Trezor

Follow these steps to securely initialize your device:

  1. Connect your Trezor to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  2. Go to https://trezor.io/start.
  3. Select your device model (Trezor Model One or Trezor Model T).
  4. Install Trezor Suite — the official desktop app for Trezor management.
  5. Launch Trezor Suite and follow the on-screen prompts to begin setup.

You’ll be prompted to install firmware if your device is brand new. Always verify the firmware source in Trezor Suite and never install from third-party sites.

4. Create a New Wallet

Once the firmware is installed, create a new wallet:

You can add multiple accounts for the same coin (e.g., BTC #1, BTC #2) to organize your funds.
